The standards and rules we work to

We carry out electrical installations in accordance with the Low-Voltage Installation Ordinance (NIV) and the low-voltage installation standards (NIN). After every new installation and every modification, we issue the legally required safety certificate. The inspection interval for periodic inspections is set by the distribution system operator for each property.

We install fibre to the network operators’ specifications for Network Level 4 – from the building entry point via the riser to the optical telecommunications outlet in every residential and commercial unit. Every penetration through a floor slab or fire wall is fire-stopped again after the cables have been pulled through, to the same fire resistance as the building element.

In data centre power supply, availability targets up to Tier IV describe the design of the installation, not a certification: only the Uptime Institute awards Tier certification, and it does so for a specific data centre. We design video surveillance in accordance with the Data Protection Act (FADP) – purpose, signage, retention period and access rights are recorded in writing for each system.

We inspect and test every installation before handover. What was measured is in the report; what was built is in the documentation. Both are part of acceptance, not extras.

  • Safety certificate under the NIV, measurement and inspection report, circuit diagrams of the distribution boards
  • Test report per fibre and documentation per unit with OTO-ID
  • Test report per link and network documentation with port assignments
  • Load test report with transfer test and battery capacity test
  • Acceptance report, system documentation and maintenance plan for ongoing operation

Occupational safety and health protection follow the legal requirements and the rules of Suva. Our teams are trained and equipped – on construction sites, in occupied buildings and in data centres, where the operator’s house rules also apply.
